Dark mode or dark theme or night mode is a feature that lets you switch an app’s or website’s primary color to black, gray or navy blue. Switching over to dark mode is an aesthetic preference for some people while for others it is a way to save their eyes at night.
YouTube added the feature to their website.
It is enjoyable to view videos on YouTube at night as they help relieve the day’s stress and fill the moments with happiness. Enabling Dark Mode in YouTube prevents your eyes from straining and allows the user to have better sleep. This guide showcases to you how to enable dark mode in YouTube, Chrome and Firefox on both Mac and Windows PC.
Enabling Dark Mode turns the pages’ light surfaces dark with light text which provides a fabulous viewing experience at night. This feature is available for Chrome and Mozilla on both Mac and Windows platforms.
It is important to ensure that you have the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox installed on the computer.
Why Dark Mode
This feature has various names which include: Night Shift and Night Mode depending on the device or application. All it really means is that your display turns itself into a warmer palette that neuters the blue light and is easier on the eyes in the evenings and night time. Many people who objected this feature argued that it breaks the paramountcy of delivering as close to perfect color accuracy as possible. However, a tinted display is much more pleasant and friendly to use than a starkly faithful one. Dark Mode only warms up the hues, it does not detract the screen’s sharpness.
The fact is that, most of the time, we don’t need perfect color accuracy. Dark Mode can help individuals with affected sleep patterns due to use of blue light emitting screens in the evenings. There is not a hard-scientific consensus on the benefits of Dark Modes, and maybe they will not affect your sleep patterns at all. Although simply the comfort of using any smart device in twilight hours is dramatically improved.
Not only does Dark Mode eliminate that feeling of a burning cornea. It also prevents your device from lighting up the whole room which your roommates will greatly appreciate.
