We use many tools in life. Tools aid us in what we do but what happens when that tool is not working? Have you been frustrated with the iOS Calendar for the familiar error “Calendar Invitation: Your Response to The Invitation Cannot Be Sent”? You sure want to throw that iPad or iPhone away for no reason but you don’t have to. This simple troubleshoot trick would help you keep your device from scratches caused by unnecessary throwing.
Try the following recommendations to do the trick on your iPhone. After each of the following recommendations, check to see if the problem has been resolved or if you still find the same error.

Tap the “Delete from my iOS device” option from the confirmation dialog box.
Attention: You don’t have to worry about losing important synced data. We will be able to retrieve such data when we turn on the “Calendars” later on your account so that it would sync again.

For devices designed with a Home push button:
- Press twice the “Home” push button
This will bring you on a screen with your applications that you have used recently.
- Look for the Calendar application on the current screen. You may need to swipe sideways to find the app.
- When you hover on the Calendar application, make a swiping motion upwards on the screen to terminate it.
- Turn the Calendar back on from your settings.
For devices designed without a Home push button:
- Make a swiping motion upwards starting from the bottom of the screen.

Tried these steps several times and still get the error. I’m ready to throw my phone! If I didn’t need my calendar, I’d just delete it altogether 😡😡😡
Does not work for any options. I don’t get asked a question to shut off the calendar. If I shut off contacts I get asked the question.
This is just another reason that my personal phone is an android. A platform that works and isn’t buggy.
Restart Calendar solved the problem for me. Thanks a lot
Fix did not work. Apple “geniuses” could not fix it either. Problem is with a Google user who sent a calendar invite that I accepted and then they deleted it on their end. Apparently Apple still does not fully play well with others.
I was up to over 300 notices before I could use my phone. I did everything from the beginning of these instructions to the end. I had to search around to find the right places to turn off my calendar as I have several calendar feeds and an app called Calendar One, which is great. Everything worked for me. There were appts it was trying to reload from almost a year ago, all now relegated to “old” invites. Thank you!!! I was ready to delete my calendar app, that I paid for, altogether.
It worked!!! Thank you 😎
Thanks for the great step-by-step! Worked wonderfully.
